SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Cooker fire at the Round House Farm Shop

FIREFIGHTERS were sent out this afternoon (Sunday, August 2, 2015) to deal with a cooker on fire at the Round House Farm Shop in Castle Cary.

Three fire engines from Castle Cary, Wincanton and Shepton Mallet were mobilised to the farm shop at Bailey Hill at just before 12.45pm.

Officers found smoke issuing heavily from the building requested back-up support with a further fire engine from Shepton Mallet being called out, along with an aerial ladder from Yeovil.

A Fire Service spokesman said: “The fire was swiftly extinguished, but an ambulance was requested for an adult male who was suffering from smoke inhalation.”
