SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: New chapter ahead for Chard's departing town clerk

CHARD Town Council is today (Wednesday, July 22, 2015) waving a fond farewell to town clerk Sarah Robson who is leaving the authority after nearly six years.

Mrs Robson has decided to return to her native Wales where she has gained a similar clerk role at a local council across the Severn Bridge.

But she has admitted that her decision to move back home is tinged with sadness.

“I’d like to say how privileged I’ve been to represent Chard over the last five and a half years in my role as town clerk,” she said.

“I have enjoyed the opportunities to work in partnership with so many local groups and organisations and become involved in the community.SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: New chapter ahead for Chard's departing town clerk

“I am very proud of the team of staff that work at the council and the energy and enthusiasm with which they approach their work.

“Whilst I am leaving with sadness I take very fond memories with me and am looking forward to next chapter with new beginnings.”

Mrs Robson added: “I’d like to thank the staff and members of the council for their belief in me and the support and help I’ve received during my time here.”

The council has been advertising the vacancy for the past few weeks and the closing date for applications is Friday (July 24, 2015) at midday.

The full-time post has been advertised with a salary of between £42,000 and £45,000 depending on experience and proven ability.

Interviews to become the next town clerk of Chard Town Council will be held in the week beginning Monday, August 3, 2015.
