SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Toothpaste donations needed for Cambodia

AN UNUSUAL appeal has gone out from a South Somerset teenager for donations of small travel-size tubes of toothpaste – which are to be used by orphaned and disadvantaged children in Cambodia.

Isobel Bragg, 16, of Martock, is flying out to Cambodia next month where she is to work in a High School Specials Care and Community project for two weeks.

“This is a big challenge for me personally," said Isobel, who is going as a volunteer with top global volunteering organisation Projects Abroad. “I really hope my trip is a big success.”SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Toothpaste donations needed for Cambodia

“I’m going to be taking over small travel-sized tubes of toothpaste because they struggle with dental health over in Cambodia,” explained Isobel.

Isobel has just left Stanchester Community School in Stoke-sub-Hamdon and will later this year be joining Strode College where she will be studying biology, sociology, dance and photography.

When the Yeovil Press heard of Isobel’s Cambodia project – we decided to see if we could help get her some toothpaste donations.

We have managed to secure three places where people can drop-off their donations of travel-size tubes of toothpaste: The Beach Café Bar in Park Road, Yeovil; the Brewers Arms in St James Street, South Petherton; and PetWood/Little Wings at Unit 5 in North Street, Martock. The Yeovil Press would like to thank them for their help.

Isobel is setting off for Cambodia on August 1, 2015, so there is time for people to make donations.
