YEOVIL NEWS: Man appears in court over burglary

POLICE have arrested and charged a Yeovil man on suspicion of burglary for an offence alleged to have been committed at the weekend.

Between 11.45am and 1.55pm on Sunday, June 21, 2015, a house on Higher Street, Norton Sub Hamdon, was broken into.

Believed to have been stolen were a number of electrical items and some jewellery, as well as a silver box and an antique clock.

A police spokesman said: “We are particularly keen to find the box and clock as they are of great sentimental value to the victim, and anyone with any information should contact Pc Jim Card at Yeovil on 101, quoting reference 66043/15.”

A 28-year-old Yeovil man has been arrested and charged with the burglary. He appeared before Taunton Deane Magistrates on Thursday (June 25, 2015) who remanded him in custody until his next appearance at Taunton Crown Court on July 24, 2015.
