YEOVIL NEWS: Manager left appalled at hospice shop break-in

THE manager of the St Margaret’s Hospice charity shop on Abbey Manor in Yeovil has been shocked after finding the premises had been burgled.

Thieves broke into the shop and stolen money from the sale of donated goods made by local supporters.

Manager, Mary Robinson, said: “I am shocked that we have been targeted.

“The profits from our shop go straight towards funding the high quality, compassionate care to patients and their families facing a life shortening illness.”

Mary added: “The callousness of the act is beyond belief. I would like to thank all of our loyal customers and donors and ask that they continue to support us and we will work hard to try and make up the deficit.”

Mary and her volunteers are working with the police to catch the culprits and are currently updating security procedures in light of the break-in.

Donations of clothing, bric-a-brac and books can be dropped directly into the shop and if anyone feels they have a little more to give – the shop can always do with a few more volunteers.

Mary would love to hear from you – so give her a call on 01935-429983.

Anyone with information about the break-in – please call police on 101.
