SOMERSET NEWS: Man in critical condition after Exmoor crash

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a serious crash in Exmoor which has left a man in hospital in a critical condition.

Shortly before 1.20am yesterday morning (Saturday, May 9, 2015) a single vehicle road traffic collision occurred on the road between Exford and Winsford.

A bronze Peugot 206 rolled on the road leaving the single male occupant of the car with serious head injuries.

The man was initially taken to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton before being transferred to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he remains in a critical condition.

A police spokesman said: “We would appeal for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward but, in particular, we are keen to speak to an woman who was at the scene and raised the alarm at a local farm.

“This woman then left the scene and it is believed that she went to inform the injured driver’s mother who lives locally.”
