YEOVIL NEWS: Gerrard’s Hair and Beauty supports the Alzheimer’s Society

STAFF at a Yeovil hair and beauty salon have presented an £800 cheque to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Gerrard’s Hair and Beauty in Preston Grove, Yeovil, raised the money with a variety of events including a Christmas raffle, a New Year tombola and a pampered chef party evening with Tina Sproston.

Salon owner Caroline Gerrard told the Yeovil Press that they had decided to do something for charity.

“We wanted to do a bit more for charity,” she said. “We want to help the smaller charities and thought the Alzheimer’s Society would be a good one to start with.”

Everyone at Gerrard’s would like to thank all their clients and people who have supported their fundraising efforts.

Dementia support worker Teresa Mason, from the Alzheimer’s Society, went along to the salon today (Wednesday, May 6, 2015) to receive the cheque from Caroline and her team.

“We are extremely grateful to everyone who has contributed to this fantastic donation,” she said. “This money will help us to continue our work supporting people with dementia.”
