SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: 213 speeding motorists caught on camera during week of action

SPEED enforcement vans caught 213 motorists speeding on roads throughout South Somerset as part of a week of action earlier this month.

In addition to several hundred motorists reported for speeding by Community SpeedWatch teams in South Somerset at the beginning of the month or dealt with by the roadside, the speed enforcement vans also in the area that week have provided details of their work there.

From April 6-12, 2015, they performed 22 checks at sites across the district.

There were seven with five or fewer detections, and two with none at all. However, there will be 213 detections which will be followed up.SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: 213 speeding motorists caught on camera during week of action

The hot spots for speeders were at Stoke-sub-Hamdon where 37 detections were made, while there were 28 at Merriott Road in Merriott and a further 21 at Langport   Road in Somerton.
