 SOMERSET NEWS: Library events to provide a digital taster

NEW-MEDIA novices can visit their local library next week (April 20-26, 2015) across Somerset for free lessons in all things digital.

Free courses teaching basic computer skills are being offered in a number of Somerset’s libraries throughout the week as part of the national Spring Online campaign.

The classes are aimed at complete beginners or those just starting to experiment with computers.

People will learn how to use mouse and keyboard, and how to search for and navigate websites.

Locations, dates, times and places available – are as follows: Bridgwater Library, Wednesday, April 22, 2-4pm, 4 spaces available; Chard Library, Monday, April 20, 2:30-4:30pm, 6 spaces available; Cheddar Library, Wednesday, April 22, 2:30-4:30pm, 2 spaces available; Frome Library, Wednesday, April 22, 2-4pm, 6 spaces available; Glastonbury Library, Thursday, April 23, 10:30am-12:30pm, 4 spaces available; Minehead Library, Thursday, April 23, 2-4pm, 4 spaces available; Priorswood Library, Monday, April 20, 10am-noon, 3 spaces available; Street Library, Friday, April 24, 10am-noon, 6 spaces available; Taunton Library, Tuesday, April 21, 10am-noon, 4 spaces available; Taunton Library, Friday, April 24, 10am-noon, 4 spaces available; Wincanton Library, Wednesday, April 22, 10am-noon, 2 spaces available; Yeovil Library, Tuesday, April 21, 10am-noon, 6 spaces available.

No previous experience is required for these events. Places are limited so booking is essential. People should visit the relevant library to book a place.
