YEOVIL NEWS: Operation tidy-up after successful Yeovil Beer Festival!

THE clean-up operation has been underway this morning (Sunday, April 12, 2015) following the completion of this weekend’s Yeovil Beer Festival.

The festival was sold-out as hundreds of people converged on the Westland leisure complex in Yeovil to drink their way through an Aladdin’s Cave of beers and ciders on Friday night and all-day yesterday (Saturday, April 11, 2015).

The third-ever festival – a charity event organised by members of Yeovil Round Table, Yeovil Lions Club and staff and students of Yeovil College – was a huge success.

And organisers have thanked everyone for their support – including the army of Brew Crew volunteers, the fantastic bands and musicians, Yeovil College, Westlands Yeovil, the event sponsors and the beer-drinking boys and girls!

Yeovil Round Table chairman Steve Farnham said: “I must say a massive thank you to the organising committee who spend many, many hours of unpaid time bringing this festival together.

“Particular thanks must go to our chairman, Rob Sherwood, of Yeovil Ales, because without his commitment to bring this event to the community and the drive to achieve that over the last three years, we would not be where we are today.”

Rob Sherwood told the Yeovil Press last night (Saturday, April 11, 2015) that he was thrilled at how well the event had gone at its new location of Westland having been held the previous two years at Yeovil College.

"It's been brilliant," he said.

President of Yeovil Lions Untamed, Jane Staffiere, said she was delighted that the organisation had worked alongside with the Round Table to bring the Beer Festival to the town once again and had “another great success.”

The festival’s organising committee would also like to thank Waterloo Music for its help in bringing a second music stage – the Waterloo Stage – to the event.
