SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Mountain biker suffers suspected broken shoulder

A MOUNTAIN biker had to be helped by firefighters and ambulance personnel after falling off and suffering a suspected broken shoulder.

Firefighters from Castle Cary and Wincanton and a special rescue team from Bridgwater attended the scene in woodlands at Wyke   Road, Ansford, Castle Cary, after getting the call for help at just after 8pm last night (Friday, April 10, 2015).

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Crews had difficulty with removing the casualty due to his location and had to await the special rescue team stretcher.

“Once in attendance, the crews worked alongside paramedics to remove the casualty from the woodlands and into the ambulance.”
