YEOVIL NEWS: Bikers support Mayor Mike’s Jurassic Jaunt!

FUNDS were raised today (Friday, April 3, 2015) for the special care baby unit at Yeovil District Hospital with a charity 112-mile motorbike ride through Somerset and Dorset.

The event – hosted by the Mayor of Yeovil, Cllr Mike Lock, in conjunction with the Westland Classic Motorbike Club – saw bikers assemble at Yeovil Rugby Club on Dorchester Road.YEOVIL NEWS: Bikers support Mayor Mike’s Jurassic Jaunt!

The wet morning weather failed to dampen the enthusiasm of a convoy of bikers from turning up and enjoying a hearty breakfast at the rugby club before setting off on the route entitled Mayor Mike’s Jurassic Jaunt.

The riders left Yeovil and headed for Weymouth, Bridport and Lyme Regis before returning to the rugby club.

Cllr Lock, who was joined at the start by the Mayoress, Cllr Pauline Lock, town crier Bruce Trigger and the Flying Colours Appeal’s Sarah Cherry, thanked everyone for attending and wished them a safe ride.

Sarah also thanked those who braved the bad weather to help support the Flying Colours Appeal in aid of the children’s ward at Yeovil Hospital.
