SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Pizza left in the oven sparks fire

A PIZZA which caught fire after being left in the oven of a home in Chard saw firefighters called out.

Three fire engines from Chard, Axminster and Ilminster were mobilised at just after 7.30pm last night (Friday, March 27, 2015) to the incident in The Maltings.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “On arrival crews discovered there had been a fire involving a pizza that had been left in the oven.”

Officers ventilated the first-floor property and reported slight smoke damage.
