YEOVIL NEWS: Tree planting day at King Arthur Drive Play Area

PEOPLE of all ages are being invited along to the play area at King Arthur Drive in Yeovil this morning (Tuesday, February 17, 2015) to help in a tree planting day.

The planting will take place from 9am to midday and is being held in a bid to make the play area a greener place for people and the wildlife.

The planting-volunteers are being encouraged to bring along a spade and wear sensible footwear.

South Somerset District Council’s senior play and youth facilities officer, Rob Parr, said: “We will be planting Scots Pine and a Beech and holly hedgerow.”

People can drop in anytime between 9am and 12noon and plant a tree.

The event is being supported by the district council, Brympton Council and the Knightstone housing association.

King Arthur Drive can be found off of Larkhill Road in Yeovil.
