SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Firefighters called back out to furniture warehouse blaze

FIRE crews were called out this afternoon (Sunday, February 8, 2015) after the “re-ignition of hotspots” at the Derhams Removal building in Chard which was the site of a major blaze earlier this week.

Crews from Chard and Ilminster were mobilised to the incident in East Street, Chard, at just before 4pm.

A spokesman from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service told the Yeovil Press: “Crews confirmed that this was a small fire involving rubbish at the rear of the building and they quickly extinguished it.”

Firefighters from across the area were sent out to the furniture warehouse building on Thursday (Feb 5, 2015) evening to deal with a large fire which left it severely damaged and resulted in people from neighbouring properties being evacuated for safety reasons.
