SCHOOL NEWS: Night of celebration at Wadham

THE annual night of celebration was held at Wadham School in Crewkerne on Thursday (January 8, 2015) where the achievements of students were recognised.

A large number of students who left Wadham last summer returned to school along with their families to receive awards and cups in recognition of their work.SCHOOL NEWS: Night of celebration at Wadham

Headteacher David Derbyshire said: “It gives us great pleasure to welcome back so many Wadham students who have moved on to work, college and university as well as those who have continued their education here at the Sixth Form.

“We are delighted to be able to celebrate their achievements and would also like to thank them for their contribution to Wadham School."

Mr Derbyshire added: “We wish them all good health, success and happiness in the future.”

Winner of the top Headteacher’s Award was revealed on the night as Aimee Price who also won the Chalmers Award for Maths and a Governors’ Award for Service to the School.

As well as special individual awards for subjects, there were also progress and attainment awards in GCSEs and A-Levels, as well as service awards.SCHOOL NEWS: Night of celebration at Wadham

During the presentation evening there were a number of performances from talented musical students.

The evening started with One Note Samba performed by Josh Barnes, Hamish Davis and Jordon O’Grady.

My Man’s Gone from Porgy and Bess was performed by Sammii Tyali, while Nocturne was performed by Grace Truong.

The evening closed with a super piano recital of Promenade performed by Oscar Fox.
