YEOVIL NEWS: Man assaulted in town centre attack

A MAN was knocked to the ground and received facial injuries during an early morning assault in Yeovil town centre.

Police have now appealed for witnesses to the incident which happened in Westminster Street at around 1.40am on Friday, November 28, 2014.

The offender was described as a white male, of medium-to-large build, with short dark hair, in his late 30s and wearing a blue top.

A police spokesman said: “He and the victim, aged 37, may have argued earlier in the evening at the Mermaid Hotel.

“After walking down Westminster Street to withdraw money from a bank cash machine, the victim was knocked to the ground causing facial injuries.”
