SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Car overturns near Crewkerne

FIREFIGHTERS were mobilised tonight (Sunday, October 19, 2014) after getting reports of a car having overturned near Crewkerne.

The alarm was raised at just after 9.30pm to the incident on the B3165 Clapton Road in West Crewkerne.

Firefighters from Crewkerne and Yeovil were called out and they found an overturned car blocking the road.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman told the Yeovil Press: “One adult female casualty was assisted from the car, but not physically trapped.

“Members of the public had removed a pet dog from the vehicle before the Fire Service had arrived.

“Fire crews rendered first aid to the casualty prior to the arrival of the ambulance.”

Firefighters made the vehicle safe and left the incident in the hands of the police.
