SOMERSET NEWS: First World War artillery shells found in home

POLICE were called to a house in Somerset this morning (Tuesday, October 14, 2014) after two First World War artillery shells were found inside.

The property in Lynton Road in Burnham-on-Sea was due to go to auction and was in the process of being cleared when the shells were found at around 9.15am.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was called in and the shells were taken to Brean beach for a controlled explosion to be carried out as a precaution.
