YEOVIL NEWS: Speeding problems on Westfield estate

POLICE are looking to clamp down on speeding motorists in the Westfield estate of Yeovil.

There have been growing concerns raised about the speed of vehicles along Stiby Road and Westfield Road – especially as it is a 20mph school zone.

A police spokesman said: “Vehicles continue to ignore the speed limit and this is putting children at risk of harm.”

Police are currently working with the Westfield Community Association and residents with a view to setting up a Community Speedwatch group in the area.

“In the interim we are working with the Somerset Road Safety group with a view to mobile speed enforcement vehicles being used in this area of Yeovil,” added the police spokesman.
