SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Ladies get on their bikes to raise cash for charity

MEMBERS of the Ilminster Town Ladies Football Club took part in a fun bike ride in the summer and raised nearly £1,000 for charity.

The girls carried out the bike ride dressed in animal-themed fancy dress and visited a number of pubs in and around the Ilminster area.

They raised a total of £977.26 for the New Digs for Dogs Appeal at Ferne Animal Sanctuary which is based near Chard.

A club spokesman said: “To raise that sort of money was amazing. Well done to everyone involved and thank you to everyone that donated.”
