SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Vandals burn down nets at cricket club

VANDALS have struck at a cricket club on the outskirts of Yeovil.

The East Coker Cricket Club has reported on its social networking Facebook site that unknown people have burnt down the club’s “nets” – used by the cricketers to practice – at the Recreation Ground in Long Furlong Lane.

A club spokesman said: “We would like to ask a massive favour to everyone who lives near our ground – please can you keep an eye on our ground as our nets have been burnt down.”

The police have been informed.
