FIRST WORLD WAR 100: We will remember Walter Gill Counter

IT was 100 years ago today on September 22, 1914, that Private Walter Counter, of Yeovil, was killed in the First World War.

Walter, a reservist of the Royal Marine Light Infantry, was a son of Mr and Mrs Counter of Clarence  Place, Yeovil.

He was on board HMS Aboukir at the time the vessel was torpedoed in the North Sea.
