TEAMS of staff members from nursing and care homes within the Yeovil area will be warming-up in readiness for a charity rounders competition taking place on Saturday (September 13, 2014).

Around a dozen teams will be taking part in the rounders event at Buckler’s Mead Academy in Yeovil tomorrow starting from 10am.YEOVIL NEWS: Care staff prepare for charity rounders event

While the rounders action takes place there will be plenty of other activities for people to enjoy including craft stalls, face painting, bouncy castle and refreshments.

Following the rounders fun there will be an after-tournament party at the Yeovil Labour Club from 7pm.

There will be a raffle where organisers have assembled a fantastic array of prizes – worth more than £2,000 - donated by various businesses in the Yeovil area and this will be drawn at about 8pm at the party.

There will also be live music and a disco to keep the party rocking.

Tickets for the raffle – priced £2 each - will be available throughout the day.

All money raised from the event will go towards Dementia UK and Cancer Research UK.

The event has been co-ordinated by staff at the Knoll Care Home in Preston Road, Yeovil, who thought it would be a great way of getting people who work within the care industry together and raise money for charity at the same time.

Everyone is welcome to go along and support the cause.
