YEOVIL NEWS: Argument erupts between dog walkers

POLICE in Yeovil are appealing for witnesses to an argument between two dog walkers that ended with a woman being threatened and hit around the head with a lead.

It happened at around 9.10pm on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, on a lane between Ashwood Drive and Great Mead.YEOVIL NEWS: Argument erupts between dog walkers

A woman walking her greyhound met a man with a Staffordshire terrier coming from the WyndhamPark housing estate towards Lyde Road.

She challenged him for trying to kick his dog, at which point he followed her back towards Ashwood   Drive, shouting and swearing at her and hitting her on the head with his dog lead. He also tried to get his dog to attack her greyhound.

A police spokesman told the Yeovil Press: “The 43-year-old woman was left shocked and with a cut to her head that needed hospital treatment.”

The man is described as white, in his late 30s to early 40s, about 5ft 10ins tall, of slight built, clean shaven and with short fair hair.

Anyone who saw what happened or who has any information is asked to call Yeovil police on 101, quoting crime reference number 85630/14.
