SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Kitchen fire at Ilminster home

THREE fire engines from Ilminster and Chard were called out this evening (Monday, August 18, 2014) to deal with a kitchen fire at a home.

The alarm was raised at just after 7pm to the property in The Mead, Ilminster, and firefighters confirmed there had been a small fire within a washing machine.

A spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service told the Yeovil Press: “The cause of the fire was accidental.”

Although the Fire Service has reported on its online incident report that three fire engines were mobilised, local people in Ilminster have since said that just one fire crew actually attended the scene.
