SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Chip pan fire

FIREFIGHTERS from Chard, Axminster and Ilminster were mobilised yesterday (Thursday, August 14, 2014) to deal with a chip pan fire at a home.

The alarm was raised at just after 10.45am to a property in Wambrook, near Chard.

Officers found the fire confined to a chip pan and they used a fire blanket to put out the blaze.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman told the Yeovil Press: “The cause of the fire was accidental. There was moderate smoke damage to the property on the ground floor.”
