SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Open meeting to discuss Ilminster Experience 2015

AN OPEN meeting is to be held later this month to discuss plans for next year’s Ilminster Midsummer Experience.

The annual open meeting will take place on Thursday, August 21, 2014, at Jasper’s Restaurant in the Market Square, Ilminster, from 7.30pm.

The IME consists of four-days in June when the town puts on a whole host of events and activities for the whole community to enjoy.

IME chairman, Mike Fry-Foley, said: “There will be a report on this year’s Ilminster Midsummer Experience and a sneak preview of some of the 2015 events.

“However, we are always looking for ideas for new events, so if you have seen something that looks interesting that you think might fit in, come along and tell us about it.”

Mr Fry-Foley said the group was also always looking for extra pairs of hands to help out with the IME.

“With an increasing number of events we are looking for people to help out either during the actual weekend or during the planning stages,” he said.

“Remember, the ideas is that we want to show that Ilminster is a vibrant community and as a community event, the IME is at its best when it is led by the community.

“This is an opportunity for you to get involved and express your views.”
