YEOVIL NEWS: The Titanic's Mummy returns to The Bell!

AUTHOR David Smith was back at The Bell in Yeovil earlier this month to sign copies of his novel The Titanic's Mummy.

Yeovil-based David had a signing session at The Bell back in 2011 when he first had the book self-published.

But since then 1,000 copies have been sold and he was back at the pub in Preston Road to commemorate the milestone.

The Titanic's Mummy is a supernatural horror story based aboard the ill-fated RMS Titanic.

David was at The Bell with actress Freyja Faraday who will be working on an audio version of The Titanic's Mummy by helping with the voiceover.

While David and Freyja were at the book signing on Saturday they were joined - as seen in our photograph - by a rather a strange-looking fan of The Titanic's Mummy!

He originally finished the book in June 2010, but received a succession of rejections from literary agents, so decided to publish the novel himself.YEOVIL NEWS: The Titanic's Mummy returns to The Bell!

“I have an over-riding passion for writing and the publication of the book was fulfilment of a lifelong dream of mine to see my work in print.”

The Titanic's Mummy is based around the adventure of insurance investigator Richard Mallory who is sent to recover a stolen Egyptian scarab with the main suspects being maverick Professor Charles Montacute and his daughter Jazmine.

The ensuing chase finds Mallory aboard the ill-fated RMS Titanic and battling an ancient Mummy brought back to life for the sole purpose of wreaking revenge on those who had dared to plunder Egyptian heritage. But events take a dramatic turn with the Titanic heading for disaster.

Although's David's novel is a supernatural horror store, it also examines new theories and factors which may contributed to Titanic's sinking in 1912.
