YEOVIL NEWS: Bucklers Mead Academy students do it in style

MILITARY vehicles, a double-decker bus and a cavalcade of stretched limousines – just some of the modes of transport used by school-leavers at Bucklers Mead Academy for their Year 11 Prom.

The students put on their finest attire for the party at Haselbury Mill on Thursday (July 3, 2014) night and they were joined by headteacher Sara Gorrod and teaching staff for their special night.

The weather stayed dry – much to the relief of all involved – as the students made their way into the grounds of the picturesque Haselbury Mill and posed for photographs on the green before heading into the impressive Tithe Barn for a farewell dinner.

Parents, family and friends also joined in the party mood to add to the wonderful atmosphere as the students assembled at the beginning of the evening.

And even though there might have been the occasional traffic jam as the larger-than-normal vehicles tried to negotiate the Mill grounds – it was a fantastic night as students said farewell to their Bucklers Mead days on a high note.
