SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Kitchen badly damaged in fire

A KITCHEN of a home was severely damaged by fire this morning (Friday, June 27, 2014) in South Somerset.

Two fire engines from Chard and neighbouring Axminster to the incident at a home in Alun Rees Way, Chard, at just before 10am.

The fire was already out by the time the officers arrived, but the kitchen suffered extensive damage by heat and smoke.

The remainder of the property suffered from smoke damage.

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “The cause of the fire was accidental.”
