YEOVIL NEWS: The Force is strong with the Flying Colours Appeal

FUNDS for the ongoing Flying Colours Appeal for Yeovil Women’s Hospital were boosted today (Saturday, May 31, 2014) – thanks to some help from characters from a long time ago and a galaxy far, far away.YEOVIL NEWS: The Force is strong with the Flying Colours Appeal

Shoppers – young and old - in Yeovil town centre today were able to get up close to some characters from Star Wars including the evil Darth Vader.

Fortunately Darth Vader and his Stormtroppers were in a good mood and he was more than happy to pose for photos – as long as people made a donation to the Flying Colours Appeal which is supporting the building of a new special care baby unit at Yeovil Women’s Hospital.

The Star Wars characters are members of the 501st Legion of the UK Garrison Star Wars costuming group which has been big supporters of the Flying Colours Appeal and other charitable organisations in the Yeovil area.

Sarah Cherry, of the Flying Colours Appeal, said she would like the UK Garrison team for their continued support and to everybody who put their loose change into the collecting tins today.
