YEOVIL NEWS: Netting stops the pigeon

A PIGEON was rescued last night (Tuesday, May 20, 2014) by firefighters after getting caught up in netting in Yeovil town centre.

The RSPCA requested the support of the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service at just before 7.30pm to free a pigeon which had got trapped in netting on a four-storey building in Princes   Street.

One fire engine from Yeovil was mobilised and officers used an aerial ladder platform to gain access to the bird and hand it back into the care of the RSPCA.
