Members of Boeing Defence UK offices at Yeovil and Yeovilton came together on Friday (April 25, 2014) with the Earth Restoration Service to plant around 135 trees at the school on the Abbey Manor estate.

The weather remained fine and more than 50 children were involving in planting the trees, while Mick Richens led two assemblies on the trees and the work of the Boeing company.

Mick was joined during the day by Boeing workers Steve Gifford, Howard Amey, Chris Higgins, Derek Underwood and Christine Jones.

Their visit to Preston School coincided with the annual World Earth Day which sees more than a billion people around the planet do something for the environment such as planting trees and cleaning up communities.

The Boeing workers said they thoroughly enjoyed their day at Preston Primary School and that it was great to be able to get involved in such a great community project.

They also said that the pupils at Preston were excellent and really got stuck into the work that was needed.
