SOMERSET NEWS: Buckets of water to the rescue
A SOMERSET flat was found to be heavily smoke-logged this evening (Thursday, April 24, 2014) due to unattended candles.
The Fire Service received reports at just before 6.45pm of smoke coming from a flat in Benedict Street, Glastonbury.
Fire engines from Glastonbury and Wells were mobilised and firefighters made a forced entry as a smokey haze could be seen through the windows.
A spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews confirmed the flat was heavily smoke-logged due to unattended candles.”
Officers used the tried-and-tested method of buckets of water to deal with the situation.
