YEOVIL NEWS: Under-17s moving up the gears

THE Somerset Driving Academy will be holding another of its sessions at Yeovil Town FC on Saturday, April 19, 2014, from 10am to 4.30pm to allow young people aged from 11-17 to get behind the wheel of a car.

Although learner drivers are not legally allowed to get out on the open road until they are aged 17, these learning days give youngsters an early introduction to driving in a safe and controlled environment.

There will be 15-minute taster lessons or longer 30-minute and one-hour sessions.

Organisers have said it could prove an ideal opportunity and a fun birthday party for up to six young people.

While a birthday party for up to six young people was previously priced £99, but is now just £75.
