YEOVIL NEWS: Eight people led to safety from residential home
TWO fire engines from Yeovil were called out to deal with a blaze at a residential home in the town.
The alarm was raised at just after midday to the old folks home property in Preston Road and firefighters found a fire within an oven.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews arrived on scene and led seven residents to safety and one member of staff. Ambulance personnel checked all people involved.”
Firefighters cleared the ground floor of smoke using positive pressure ventilation.
The Fire Service spokesman added: “The cause of the fire was accidental.”
