YEOVIL NEWS: Casualty flown to hospital
ONE casualty was taken to hospital by air ambulance yesterday (Friday, April 11, 2014) following a collision on the outskirts of Yeovil.
The incident took place at just after 2.15pm at the junction of the A37 Dorchester Road and Netherton Lane and involved a car and an articulated lorry.
Two fire engines and a rescue tender from Yeovil were mobilised along with a heavy rescue vehicle from Dorchester.
One person was trapped in the wreckage and crews got to work to free them with hydraulic cutting equipment.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews continued to work with paramedics to release the casualty who was transferred by air ambulance to hospital.”
