SOMERSET NEWS: Man gives himself up after bike theft appeal

A POLICE campaign on social media yesterday (Wednesday, April 9, 2014) which involved the releasing of a photo of a man they wanted to speak with in connection with the theft of a bicycle in Taunton proved successful – the man gave himself up.

The incident involved the theft of a pedal cycle outside Taunton Food and Wine store on Bridge   Street, Taunton, at around 12.10pm on Sunday, April 6, 2014.

A photo of a man wanted in connection with the theft was widely circulated on social media.

And a police spokesman said last night: “A man has voluntarily attended a local police station this evening. Thanks for sharing and assisting with the appeal.”
