YEOVIL NEWS: MP welcomes bus station waiting room refurb

NEWS that a newly-refurbished waiting room has now opened at the bus station in Yeovil has been welcomed by MP David Laws.

South Somerset District Council provided the funding to paint and decorate the room and install a CCTV camera to guard against the anti-social behaviour which forced them to close the waiting room before.

The whole bus station has also been cleaned up. The bus shelters and parking bay areas have been cleaned, while the street furniture has been reinvigorated and new planters have been added to bring some colour to the building.

Yeovil MP Mr Laws said: “I am really pleased that the waiting room has now opened again after some much needed improvements. It is long overdue.

“The bus station will now be a much more welcoming place for Yeovil residents and visitors to our town, and a safer one too.”
