Raising funds in memory of Jemima

A TRUST fund is being launched in memory of a talented South Somerset teenager who suddenly died at the age of just 13.

Jemima Layzell tragically collapsed on March 10, 2012, at her home at Horton near Ilminster and died a few days later at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol from a fatal brain aneurysm.Raising funds in memory of Jemima

She left behind a great legacy – as an organ donor she saved the lives of eight people and as an aspiring author she left a number of diaries, the last one she called The Draft which was later published by her family after her untimely death.

The Layzell family are now hoping to raise money for others in Jemima’s memory.

The Jemima Layzell Trust will raise funds which will be distributed to causes that are dedicated to the advancement of health or the saving of young peoples lives; that can be used by young people in need through ill health or disability relating to injury or trauma to the brain; and to encourage and assist young aspiring authors to reach their potential.

You might know someone who would benefit from extra funding to support a young person who fits our criteria? Maybe a family you know has had their life turned upside down, with parents having to take a break from work in order to care for a child or perhaps a young person you know is keen to improve their writing and there is a creative writing course they would love to attend.

In order to access funds from the Trust, the family would need an application form completed and sent. If you need help to decide if you qualify please contact – jemima@jemimalayzell.com.

Proceeds for the Jemima Layzell Trust will be raised on Friday, March 28, 2014, at a Latino Night to be held at the Perry   Street Club at Tatworth, near Chard, from 7.30pm to 10pm.

Doors open at 7pm and tickets are priced £12 and includes a light buffet. All tickets must be paid for prior to the event – contact Celia on 0797-167-5577.
