Take That split up, Bob Paisley died and Yeovil’s Natalie Hyde was born – what a day!

ALTHOUGH millions of people around the globe were mourning the splitting up of boy band Take That and the death of legendary Liverpool manager Bob Paisley on this day 18 years ago – Yeovil parents Garry Hyde and Mandy Purchase were celebrating the birth of their daughter.

Eighteen years on and Natalie Hyde is today (February 14, 2014) – on the most romantic day of the year – celebrating her coming of age.

Talented Natalie, of Westland Road, Yeovil, is currently studying for four A-levels at Strode College in dance, ICT, geography and psychology.Take That split up, Bob Paisley died and Yeovil’s Natalie Hyde was born – what a day!

The former Westfield Academy student is a member of the Somerset Youth Dance Company and they will be performing at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil on February 26, 2014, at the tenth anniversary of Spring Forward.

But turn the clock back 18 years and the entertainment world was coming to terms with the loss of Take That.

While Robbie Williams left the band in 1995, the four remaining members – Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen – completed their world tour and released a final single before splitting up in 1996, only to reform ten years later.

But Natalie’s mum, Mandy, speaking about Take That splitting up, said: “I had more important things on my mind at the time!”

And proud football-loving dad, Garry, said: “I also remember when Natalie was born because it was the same day that the great Liverpool manager Bob Paisley died.”

Paisley led Liverpool to a period of unprecedented success in the 1970s and early 1980s with 20 honours in nine years – six League Championships, three League Cups, six Charity Shields, three European Cups, one UEFA Cup and one UEFA Super Cup.

But birthday girl Natalie, speaking about Take That splitting up and the death of Bob Paisley, said: “That was all before my time!”

Tickets, meanwhile, for Spring Forward at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil are priced £7 and £6 for concessions. For more details phone the Octagon on 01935-422884 or click on the Octagon advert on the right-hand side of this website.
