Vehicle parts stolen in Yeovil

EXPENSIVE parts have been stolen from vehicles parked on the Lynx Trading Estate in Yeovil.

In the past two weeks there have been eight similar thefts in the town, six of which were on the trading estate. Often catalytic converters are stolen but on Sunday, January 26, 2014, a full truck exhaust was stolen with the offenders also taking a catalytic converter from a vehicle that had been targeted previously. Each of the offences is costing between £1,500 and £2,500 to replace.

The offences are being investigated and we would like to speak to anyone who knows the people responsible for taking the vehicle parts or handling them after they’ve been stolen. Enquiries into the thefts on January 26 shows three people, and their car, who are of interest to the investigation.Vehicle parts stolen in Yeovil

A police spokesman said: "The three people were in the area between 5.30pm and 6.20pm and at one point two joggers have left the pavement to run around the group.

"We would like to speak to those two people and anyone else in the area around that time.

"There were also several vehicles seen leaving Wickes, one of which stops at the entrance for a prolonged period of time. We would like to speak to the drivers leaving the area at around that time."

Anyone with information about the thefts should contact PC Brett Paul on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
