Santa Dash is another big success for hospice

AROUND 200 runners dressed in red and white Father Christmas costumes turned out today (Sunday, December 15, 2013) to support St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice.Santa Dash is another big success for hospice

The annual Santa Dash saw runners take part in the 4k run at Yeovil Country Park which was organised by the Yeovil Town Road Running Club.

Registration for the event took place at Yeovil College and the participants marched down through town collecting for the hospice.

Driving rain and strong winds failed to dampen the spirits of the colourful runners.

The actual “race” was immaterial with the most important aspect of today’s Santa Dash being to raise as much money as possible.

But for the record it was Dan Kenyon who raced home in first place followed by runner-up Matt Driver and third-placed Dave Stanfield.

Organisers would like to thank everyone who took part in the event and St Margaret’s sponsored events fundraiser Brooke Brownlow was on hand to present all runners with medals as they crossed the finishing line.

The Santa Dash was once again sponsored by Milsted Langdon.
