Carol singers bring some Christmas cheer

STAFF from Yeovil-based Yarlington Housing Group have been carol singing their way across South Somerset in the build-up to the festive season.

They recently completed their carol-marathon which has seen them sing hundreds of festive tunes at each of Yarlington’s ten extra care housing schemes around the district.

While they have been well and truly carol-ed out – they have also eaten their way through dozens of mince pies as they brought some Christmas cheer to the elderly residents.

Senior extra care officer, Jan Skeemer, said: “For some people the only celebrations they have are what we can bring to them.

“We decided this year that staff from across all of our schemes would get together at the end of each day to bring some of the joys of Christmas to those who are less mobile.”

The team all dressed for the occasions and saw many Santas, elves, Mrs Christmas’ and even a reindeer joining in the festive fun.
