Casualty taken to hospital after A303 crash

ONE male casualty was taken to hospital last night (Wednesday, November 27, 2013) following a two-vehicle collision on the A303 on the outskirts of Yeovil.

The incident happened at around 5.15pm on the A303 roundabout at Sparkford and two fire engines from Castle Cary and Wincanton, plus a rescue tender from Yeovil, were mobilised after receiving a call for support from ambulance paramedics.

Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of a vehicle to help get a male casualty out of the wreckage.

He was then taken to hospital by ambulance.
