Spooky goings-on at Mad Hatter in Yeovil

WHEN you want to have a specialised Hallowe’en and Horror Shop – you could not wish for a better location than premises which are actually haunted!

Some may see it as a spook-tacular publicity stunt, but it is true. The Mad Hatter Joke and Fancy Dress shop premises in Princes Street, Yeovil, do suffer from bumps in the night and strange spine-tingling goings-on; but it all adds to the excitement and drama of entering the Mad Hatter’s very own haunted house.

The Haunted House and Horror Shop inside Mad Hatter is becoming an attraction in its own right and visited by customers from all over the country.

Mike Burt, of Mad Hatter, said: “We are one of the UK’s largest suppliers of spine-chilling horror props, creepy Hallowe’en decorations, gory make-up and scary masks.

“If you are looking for life-sized animated props, giant spiders or gruesome body parts you will certainly find it all here!”

Mike admitted he was slightly sceptical about the premises actually being haunted, but has been told on good authority that that is the case.

He told the Yeovil Press that they have had plenty of interest from TV companies wanting to visit, while ghost fans have asked if they could spend the night there.

But Steve Sowden, of Yeovil Press, who visited Mad Hatter this week, said: “The best way to enjoy Mad Hatter is by calling in and having a look around the Haunted House; it is scarily good!”
