Burglary and gas leak at Yeovil home
POLICE are investigating a burglary at a home in Yeovil which also saw firefighters attend to deal with a gas leak.
Firefighters were called out this morning (Monday, October 7, 2013) to deal with a possible gas leak at a property in Sandlewood Close, off Lyde Road., at just before midday.
Dgt Sgt Clyn Hares, of Yeovil Police, said: “We are investigating a burglary at a home in Sandlewood Close, while the Fire Service attended to deal with a gas leak.
“The investigation is in its early stages and it is too early to say what caused that leak and what, if anything, was stolen.”
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “On arrival crews isolated the gas supply and ventilated the property.
“Crews used gas monitors to check the levels of gas within the property.”
