Make a brew for St Margaret's Hospice

SUPPORTERS of St Margaret's Somerset Hospice are being encouraged to "put the kettle on and make a brew" to raise funds for the hospice.Make a brew for St Margaret's Hospice

The charity is launching ‘Time for Tea’ during Hospice Awareness week this October 7-13 and asking you to get involved.

St Margaret’s is hoping that supporters will join them by holding their own tea parties within the next few months.  Groups, schools, clubs and business are also being asked to brew up and make ’Time for Tea’.

Last year, 52 tea parties were held across Somerset in support of St. Margaret’s, raising over £14,187 and their target for this year is £20,000; enough money to help pay for 40 days of care in one of the in-patient units at Taunton or Yeovil.

Ann Lee, director of clinical services at St Margaret’s Hospice, said: ‘Time for Tea’ is a great, easy, fun way the community can support their local hospice care.

"Every year it takes £10 million to deliver hospice care to the people of Somerset; without fundraising events and campaigns such as ‘Time for Tea’ we would struggle to provide that care so  I would like to say a huge thank you in advance to everyone who gets involved this year.

"I would like to encourage everyone, young and old, to get the kettle on and get baking to help us smash our target of £20,000!’
