Hot air balloon lands at Mudford Rec

THIS was the scene in Yeovil this morning when a hot air balloon landed in the Yeovil Recreation Centre at Mudford Road.

This photo was taken by an eye-witness at around 8.30am at the area know more commonly as Mudford Rec.

Other people, writing on social networking sites, said that they were woken up by the balloon as it passed overhead across the Abbey Manor Park estate and then the Thatcham Park area of Yeovil.

It is understood that nobody was hurt and the balloon was packed away and placed on the back of a trailer.

Another eye-witness said: “He landed the balloon quite skilfully between the new hockey pitch and the playground – staying clear of the tall lights, trees and buildings.

“Landed with skill I thought.”
